Black
Belt Strategies for Leadership - (Seminar available on
request)
This exciting seminar is designed specifically for
organisations looking to empower and reinvigorate their leadership
teams.
Sensei Peter Reilly FAIM
is a respected Martial Artist and has long been interested in the link
between the study of Martial Arts and the application of their belief
systems in the work environment.
In this seminar, detailed
discussion will be held on the topics of Budo, Respect, Commitment,
Empowerment, Enablement and Focus and how these apply in the management
and leadership climate of today.
Peter has over 25 years
experience in HR arena. He currently holds black belt rankings in
three
styles of Karate and runs his own private dojo in Gladstone.
In June 2005 Peter
trekked the "Kokoda Track" carrying a 28+ kg backpack which housed a
7.5kg concrete brick. This feat was a demonstration of how to overcome
the seemingly impossible and control ones emotions and behaviour. On the
workshop Peter will discuss "The Battle of the Brick" which is a
metaphor for all of life's challenges and the classic things that weigh
a good Manager/Leader down.
His personal motto is:
Conceive, Believe, Achieve.
Peter, who is also Principal Consultant of Baraka Training and
Management, believes that as managers and professionals, each of us
needs to be involved in life long learning. However, we often get
distracted by our daily lives and forget to invest time in expanding our
knowledge and skills.
This seminar will give
you an opportunity to invest time in your own personal development, and
become better informed about your preferred style of management. This
class will also provide insights into ways by which you can enhance your
own performance, and the chance to network and learn with like-minded
peers.

Every positive and negative
event, thought and action, in my life has contributed to shape who I am
today and may be tomorrow. How I see the world and those within it is
intrinsically linked to my interpretations of past experiences. Those
experiences may have been real or perceived. It does not matter.
Reilly
Sensei 2006
“The purpose of today’s
training….is to defeat yesterday’s understanding.”
The famed swordsman Miyamoto Musashi (1584 – 1645)
It requires wisdom to
understand wisdom:
The music is nothing if the audience is deaf.
