I need my Sensei.

I need to sense his experience.

I need to see him in his Gi, gently walking through each class.

I need to hear his thoughts of my form and correction of my many errors.

One of my fondest karate memories was experienced as an orange belt was watching my Sensei running through his Kata.

At that moment I knew it was a 50+ year journey.

At that moment I knew what I was striving for.

At that moment I knew what was within reach for those who practiced and dedicated themselves to the goal.

Grace, style, power, precision all expressed through his movement ….. My jaw must have been on the ground.

I know I'm not alone in my thoughts ….. All students need regular touch, motivation, and support from the one they respect the most, Their Sensei.
